FUND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The Fund Development Committee will be composed primarily of business and
professional volunteers. Their role will be to assist the Board of Directors and
staff with the successful implementation of the fundraising master plan through
strategic problem solving, business community access, and personal advocacy.
Responsibilities will be to:

Advise the Development Director and Executive Director with preparation
and oversight of the annual master plan for fundraising, especially in
identifying the most appropriate constituent groups to reach out to, and
establish and foster relationships with potential donors.
•
Provide peer group introductions to the business community about the
mission and work of Ride Connection.
•
Work with the Development Director to coordinate identification of
individual, corporate, and foundation prospects.
•
Bring professional problem solving, business community focus and
experience to the implementation of fundraising plans and events.
•
Assist Ride Connection with securing sponsorships, cause-related
marketing, and business donations for Ride Connection events.
•
When appropriate, “open doors” for the Development Director and
Executive Director to make presentations to employee and business groups.
•
Participate in the planning and implementation of the annual luncheon in
relationship with the luncheon committee. Also attend and secure attendees
for the luncheon from among friends and business associates.
•
Provide expert advice to Ride Connection regarding effective solicitations
of planned gifts, bequests, and handling of non-traditional donations.
•
Assure that a system of donor recognition is in place and functioning.
•
Participate in special events and other fund development activities.
