WorkLink

We help you get to work!

Our WorkLink transit orientation program serves low income job seekers and wage earners. We provide group and individual instruction in English and Spanish on how to fully understand and utilize all alternative transportation options within their community.

The WorkLink program is provided throughout Multnomah and Washington counties.

What training is provided through WorkLink?

Our transit orientation sessions cover the following topics:

  • Orientation on all of the ways to plan a trip on TriMet: by phone, on the Internet, with schedules and maps.
  • Information on where to buy tickets, which tickets to buy, how to validate tickets, and how to read transfers.
  • How to ensure safety, security and comfort on bus and MAX.
  • How to take a bicycle on bus and MAX.

What are the benefits of WorkLink?

Job seekers and workers often believe they need a car or must obtain rides from others in order to meet their transportation needs. However, when people learn to use other modes of transportation safely and efficiently they experience many benefits, such as:

  • Increased confidence and self-reliance.
  • Decreased car-related expenses, including insurance, gas, repairs and payments.
  • An increase in physical activity that contributes to health and general well-being.
  • Reduction in driving-related stress.
  • Decreased isolation from others.
  • A positive environmental impact.

Who provides the WorkLink training?

Training is provided by our qualified Ride Connection representatives.

How much does it cost?

WorkLink services are provided at no charge to low income job seekers and wage earners. Contact us to determine if you qualify.
