WorkLink
What is WorkLink?
The WorkLink program serves low income job seekers and wage earners.
Group and individual instruction is available in English and Spanish
on how to fully understand and utilize all alternative transportation
options within their community by working with partner agencies,
identifying network trainers, providing direct consumer education
and one-on-one instruction.
Individuals are instructed in group settings and individually.
Those who receive training not only practice the many ways to plan
a commute using the TriMet system, they also learn about other transportation
options, such as bicycles, carpools and vanpools.
The WorkLink program is provided throughout Multnomah and Washington counties
What training is provided through WorkLink?
A typical training session covers the following topics:
- Training in the skills needed for each of the following ways
of planning a trip on TriMet: by phone, on the Internet and with
schedules and a map.

to validate tickets, how to read transfers, etc.
- Safety, security and comfort on bus and MAX.

What are the benefits of WorkLink?

needs. However, when people learn to use other modes of transportation
safely and efficiently, they experience many benefits, such as:
- Increased confidence and self-reliance.
- Decreased car-related expenses, including insurance, gas, repairs
and payments.
- Increase in physical activity, which contributes to health and
